The Mahakaruna Foundation
The Sanskrit word "mahakaruna" means great (maha) compassion (karuna). Through its activities, the Mahakaruna Foundation works to assist the old, sick, undernourished and undereducated peoples of Buddhist Asia, and to help preserve the ancient Buddhist heritage and culture of Tibet.
